We recently sat down with North West Post Hardcore band Today, They Are Older and asked the band a few quick fire questions.
Here’s what the lads had to say…
Describe Today They Are Older in three words
Big smelly riffs?!
How was 2017 for you and what have you been up to so far this year?
2017 was relatively busy, we wrote a lot of new music as well as playing as many shows as we could. Already this year we’ve been on tour in the UK and France with Time for energy and We’re currently a couple of songs away from finishing an Album so then it’s off to the studio. Hopefully to release it later on this year.
You’ve recently come off tour with Time For Energy which show stands out for you?
Nantes and Bordeaux we’re both amazing showed with brilliant turn outs, such warm welcome to a band people haven’t really seen before but to pick one it would most probably have to be the Nantes show. Nantes is where Time for energy are from and everyone is just crazy and love to mosh!
What home comforts did you miss whilst being on tour?
The weather was really bad when we were on tour, and then van didn’t exactly have great heating so probably just the warmth of our own homes. Other than that we really enjoy playing away and wish we could do it more often.
Can we expect any new material from you this year?
Yeah we’re looking at recording our new tracks and getting them out this year. We’re also considering doing some live sessions in the summer so keep an eye out for that.
With you being around since 2010 how has the music scene changed in the last 8 years?
Lots of different mental sub-genres are popping up, making the mental scene a lot more interesting. We feel hardcore music is taking a big step up and taking over in the scene. We still can’t fit in to one genre ourselves but who wants to fit in right?!
With north west bands should we keep an eye out for?
Stand silent, Arcadia and Kaiber Koi are all smashing it the minute. And of course all the bands that are signed to Sunbird Records are worth looking out for!
