Earth Caller are a 5 piece metalcore band from Melbourne Australia . Since their inception, Earth Caller have toured rigorously and earned themselves a reputation for being one of the most energising live acts in the country.
Their debut release ‘Degenerate’, which the band released independently in 2015, charted at #6 on the AIR Charts and also found it’s way onto national television, radio and magazines both in Australia and overseas.
Since then the boys have signed a recording contract with US major label giants eOne and with the release of their highly anticipated Sophomore record just around the corner the up and coming Melbourne heavy hitters are showing no signs of slowing down.
The bands latest album ‘Crystal Death‘ is due to be released on the 19th January so we sat down with the band and asked them a few quick fire questions.
How did the band form?
The band formed not long after I got back from a Japan tour playing bass for Closure In Moscow. After that tour I was extremely motivated to start something of my own and hopefully see some success.
Whats been the highlight of the band’s career so far?
I would say the highlight of our career would have to be making this new record! We had such an amazing time doing it and we’ve grown so much as friends and musicians because of it.
What festival would you love to headling in the future?
Unify, Groezrock, Impericon, Download. Any of them really, they’re all amazing.
What bands are you digging at the moment?
Right now I’m really digging Alpha Wolf, Dregg, DVSR, Hellions, Justice For The Damned, Aburden, Young Lions, Tonight Alive, Deadlights & Chasing Ghosts just to name a few. All of these bands are incredibly talented and I’m more than proud to be friends with them.
What plans have you got for 2018?
Tour, Tour & Tour. Also maybe record the even newer material that we have. Stay Tuned.
Do any of the band have any weird rituals before going on stage?
I do. Before I go on I like to find a dark room or closet and scream my ass off to G myself up.
Whats the biggest inspiration as an individual and as a band?
My biggest inspiration as an individual has literally just been from watching my incredibly talented friends chase their dreams and make their art. There’s something so great about being surrounded by people who are motivated and striving for the same kind of future you’d like for yourself.
As a band I would say we’re inspired by our fans. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with lots of them and they’re all, in fact, really cool and friendly people.
To our fans – Your support and kindness is everything to us. Thank you so much.
Whats your favouirte venue to play and why?
My favourite venue I’ve played so far is 170 Russell in Melbourne. The sound, lights, backstage and vibe are all amazing.
What album is the one album you listen to at least once a week?
The Process Of Belief by Bad Religion. It is and always will be my favourite record.
